Once again Chiddingstone Castle were good enough to allow us to hold our annual Boxing Day meet in the grounds. The splendid castle provides an atmospheric backdrop to this traditional country life event. The meet was exceptionally well supported by riders and supporters. After traditional ‘stirrup cups’ had been enjoyed the Senior Master, Mr. Gurney MFH called for hounds.
Hounds and field initially made for Mr. Gribble’s farm at Chiddingstone where some challenging trails were laid to include the well known sequence of hedges. A considerable amount of country had been opened for the day encompassing much of the Chiddingstone and Penshurst area. Scenting conditions were good and hounds hunted the trails laid brilliantly.
